Know Me
Dan Garee is a filmmaker, cinematographer, and storyteller with over 15 years of experience in film, television, and video production. He began his career working with a production company in London and spent time working with the BBC early on, building a strong foundation in professional media production.
Since then, Dan has filmed projects in more than 15 countries, working across a wide range of environments and formats. His experience as a producer has strengthened his organizational approach to storytelling, giving him a practical, detail-oriented mindset that carries into every project.
As a working cinematographer, Dan places a strong emphasis on image quality and narrative clarity. He believes that strong visuals and thoughtful storytelling are inseparable, whether he is working on documentary projects, commercial work, or personal legacy films.
Dan currently lives in Clinton, Connecticut, where he enjoys life on the shoreline with his wife, Jessi, and their two dogs, Juniper and Birdie. When he’s not working on a project, he can usually be found close to the water, staying connected to the slower rhythms and everyday beauty of coastal living.
Today, Dan brings together his background in high-end production and his passion for meaningful storytelling through HLM, helping individuals and families preserve their histories in a way that is both visually compelling and deeply personal.
