Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Agreement”) govern the use of services provided by HLM | Home Legacy Management (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By booking, using, or accessing our services or website, you agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Scope of Services
HLM provides personalized in-home and digital support services including, but not limited to:

Legacy storytelling and recorded interviews

Photo, video, and document preservation
-
Household organization and management support
-
Digital organization and scanning services
-
Home inventory and documentation
-
Resale preparation and online marketplace assistance
-
Transition and simplification support
-
Archive organization and preservation consulting
All services are tailored to each client’s needs and may vary in scope, timeline, and deliverables.
2. Consultations & Scheduling
Consultations may take place by phone, video conference, or in person.
Appointments and project dates are scheduled based on availability. We request reasonable notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
HLM reserves the right to decline or discontinue services at our discretion.
3. Payment Terms
Project pricing may be hourly, session-based, package-based, or custom quoted depending on the nature of the work.
Unless otherwise agreed:

deposits will be required prior to scheduling
-
invoices are due upon receipt
-
outstanding balances may delay project completion or delivery
Late payments may incur additional fees.
4. Client Responsibilities
Clients agree to:

provide accurate information regarding materials and services requested
-
maintain legal ownership or authorization for items handled
-
maintain independent backups of important digital files
-
provide a safe working environment within the home
Clients remain responsible for all final decisions regarding:
-
retention or disposal of items
-
resale approvals
-
document destruction
-
preservation choices
5. Preservation, Scanning & Digital Files
While HLM takes the utmost care in handling photographs, documents, media, and digital files, no method of digitization, scanning, storage, or preservation can guarantee against damage, future deterioration, corruption, accidental loss, or technological obsolescence.
Clients are encouraged to maintain independent backups of all important materials.
6. Home Organization & Household Support
HLM provides light organizational and household management support only.
Services do not include:

deep cleaning
-
junk hauling
-
hazardous waste removal
-
biohazard remediation
-
licensed moving services
-
heavy construction or repairs
Clients may be referred to third-party providers when specialized services are required.
7. Resale & Marketplace Assistance
HLM may assist with identifying, organizing, photographing, listing, or preparing items for resale through platforms such as eBay, Facebook Marketplace, consignment services, or donation organizations.
However:

no guarantee is made regarding item value or sale outcome
-
marketplace fees, taxes, shipping, and third-party policies remain the responsibility of the client unless otherwise agreed
-
HLM is not liable for disputes, losses, or damages related to third-party marketplaces, buyers or shippers.
8. Legacy Storytelling & Media Services
Clients retain ownership of personal stories, photographs, and materials provided to HLM.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
-
HLM retains creative rights to original production formats, templates, editing methods, and project files
-
completed deliverables may not be altered or redistributed commercially without permission
Any public sharing of client projects by HLM will require prior client approval.
9. Privacy & Confidentiality
HLM understands the personal and sensitive nature of homes, family records, photographs, and life stories.
We strive to maintain discretion and confidentiality regarding all client information and materials.
Information will not be shared with third parties except:

when required by law
-
when necessary to complete requested services
-
with client consent
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HLM shall not be liable for:
-
indirect or consequential damages
-
emotional distress claims
-
data loss or corruption
-
market value fluctuations
-
accidental damage arising from normal handling
-
losses related to third-party platforms or services
Total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the applicable service.
11. Website Use
All website content, branding, graphics, text, and media are the property of HLM unless otherwise noted.
Users may not:

reproduce website content without permission
-
misuse or attempt unauthorized access to the website
-
use the website for unlawful purposes
12. Changes to Terms
HLM reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.
Continued use of the website or services constitutes acceptance of any updated terms.
